Our Goals

  • To improve student achievement in Literacy.

Our Beliefs

  • All students can learn.
  • The public education system exists to educate all students and must be relevant and accessible.
  • Learning must be fostered and supported by schools in partnership with the community.
  • The community, the board, administrators, support staff and parents share, with teachers and students, the responsibility for student learning.
  • Quality education involves a process of ongoing improvement.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Quesnel School District is to inspire all students to embrace learning as a way of life by creating quality learning environments, nurturing positive relationships and honouring individual student needs which will enable our students to be responsible citizens of the global community.

Our Vision

All students will achieve intellectual and personal growth. Student achievement is best attained in a caring, challenging, learning environment supported by the collaborative efforts of educators, support staff, parents, students and the community.

Our Values:

In order to achieve our vision, we in the Quesnel School District, will:

  • centre our decisions first and foremost on student needs;
  • speak and act with respect and dignity;
  • work together to provide an emotionally and physically safe, supportive, learning environment;
  • encourage all students to learn the skills, knowledge and attitudes that enable them to take responsibility for life-long learning;
  • collaborate with students, staff, parents and community partners;
  • demonstrate a desire to learn and promote life-long learning through a variety of personal and professional development

Critical Issues and Intentions

Our current critical issues and intentions are:

  • To create safe, positive learning environments in our schools for all students and staff.
  • To support and enhance relevance and excellence in all curriculum, instruction and assessment activities.
  • To improve communication, build trust and develop effective partnerships with all stakeholders, within and outside of the school district.
  • To effectively resource for the improvement of our practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment with specific attention to technology and learning resources.
