The Quesnel School District is seeking an outstanding educator with a commitment to excellence for the following position:

VICE-PRINCIPALSHIP: Correlieu Secondary School

COMMENCING: Aug 1, 2002

Correlieu Secondary School is staffed by approximately 42 FTE professional education staff and serves a diverse student population of approximately 725 students in Grades 8 to 12.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold current membership in the BC College of Teachers and who possess:

  • a Master of Education Degree with graduate training in areas such as supervision, curriculum or administration;
  • recent experience as a school administrator;
  • current knowledge of secondary curriculum and assessment practices, instructional strategies, and supervisory practices;
  • skill in developing school wide planning processes and in following through to their successful completion;
  • exceptional interpersonal skills, a high energy level, and the ability to positively impact on students, staff, parents, and a diverse community;
  • exemplary experience as a classroom teacher;
  • proven leadership and team building skills;
  • knowledge in the use of computers for administrative and instructional purposes
  • commitment to the inclusion of all students in the regular classroom and to promoting the District's Special Education service delivery model;
  • commitment to creating a positive learning culture for students and staff;
  • commitment to personal and staff professional development;
  • commitment to be guided by the District's Mission, Belief Statements and School Growth Plan.
