Administrative Vacancy (Posting #03-A001-Director of Instruction - Human Resources)

The Quesnel School District is a progressive, innovative, student-focused school district and is seeking an outstanding educator with a commitment to excellence for the position of District Principal - Operations.  This will be a challenging position that could lead to advancement.  The successful candidate will officially report to the Superintendent of Schools and will work closely with the Director of Human Resources.  The District Principal - Operations will also participate fully with the District Administration Team.

Position:  District Principal - Operations

Commencing:  Jul 1, 2003 - District Administration Office

Preference will be given to candidates who hold current membership in the BC College of Teachers and who possess a Master of Education Degree with graduate training in areas such as supervision, curriculum or administration.

Areas of responsibility will include:

  • planning, implementing and evaluating quality learning conditions for all students and staff
  • planning and implementing school staffing allocations and assisting the Coordinator of  Special Education with student support worker allocations, supervision and hiring
  • facilitating school boundary implementation
  • assisting the Director of Human Resources with human relations issues
  • assisting with collective agreement negotiations and implementation
  • advertising, posting and filling teacher and support staff positions
  • supporting international student programs
  • supporting the Director of Human Resources with harassment issues resolution
  • coordinating the management of District information
  • supporting District technology services
  • assisting in responding to District Communication Protocol inquiries/concerns regarding student issues from the school level
  • supporting school principals in maintaining quality instruction
