Aboriginal Education - English Skills Development Teacher
An Aboriginal Education English Skills Development Teacher's training includes Elementary training with specialization in language development, reading and literacy, Special Education and coursework in Aboriginal Education. ESL training/experience would be an asset. The English Skills Development Teacher is responsible for assessment, monitoring and planning programs as per the Annual Instructional Plans (AIPs) designed to support eligible Aboriginal students K-12. This position includes instructional time as confirmed by the Principal of Aboriginal Education. Preference in hiring will be given to persons of Aboriginal ancestry.

The Aboriginal Education English Skills Development Teacher, reporting to the Principal of Aboriginal Education, works closely with other district professional staff to support First Nation and Aboriginal students in reaching success in the area of literacy. This is an itinerant position based at the Aboriginal Education Centre.
