School Trustee Elections are Coming Up

August 23, 2022

Issued on August 23, 2022 for immediate release

Elections for School Trustees will be happening this fall. The Quesnel School District has unique needs and educational requirements for its 3000 students and 15 schools. School trustees are locally-elected representatives that understand their community’s strengths, challenges and needs. Trustees can help to foster a School District that reflects local priorities by guiding the district work.

Are you interested in the issues that affect our School District? Are you interested in being part of a publicly elected Board of Trustees, and being part of effective group decision-making?

Student success needs community support, and letting your name stand for School Trustee is one way to support our School District. A publicly elected Board benefits from having a variety of trustees, representing different voices from our community.

If you are able to bring your voice to the Quesnel School Board, please pick up your nomination packages from the District Administration office. The Quesnel Board of Education is looking forward to new applicants that will be part of a creative and effective team that governs our School District.

Nomination packages can be submitted to Chief Election Officer Jennifer Woollends at the District Administration Office from Tuesday, August 30 at 9:00 a.m. to Friday, September 9, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.

If you would like more information on the nomination and election process or School District No. 28 operations in general please contact Chief Election Officer Jennifer Woollends at 250- 992-8802.

If you would like to speak to one of our current Trustees please contact the School Board Office for more information.
